The surprise announcement from yesterday was a brand-new product for Microsoft, the Surface Headphones. Now it seems this was just the start of a theme, as today it was revealed that Microsoft has invested in a smart headphone startup Human Inc. The company, which started on Indiegogo, is developing its Sound wireless headphones, which feature a unique truly wireless over the ear design, allowing the company to do more with the larger surface area, such as comfortable touch controls, embed more smarts and offer better sound quality with larger drivers and better sound isolation. Human is promising their headphones will also offer intelligent voice control, all-day comfort and fit, powerful sound, and more, and raised $21 million in Series B investment, with Microsoft a prominent strategic investor. While headphones may seem like an unusual venture for Microsoft, the devices are likely designed to serve Microsoft’s main productivity theme by making developers and other office workers more efficient by isolating them from noise and disturbance and simultaneously giving them easy access to smart assistants such as Cortana to help them get their work done. The product appears to have been in development for some years, and the company appears to have dropped some of its more ambitious goals such as fitness and sleep tracking. Navigate to OUR FORUM to learn more.  Microsoft is set to roll out Windows 10 October Update in the coming weeks. The update has been available for Windows Insiders for a while now but is yet to be rolled out to the public. Microsoft has finalized Build 17763 as the RTM build and has confirmed the rollout as well. However, the rollout will take place in phases so it will actually be a while before your PC gets the new update. With the April 2018 Update, Microsoft embedded ML (Machine Learning) to Windows 10 which will ping back to the update servers when a device is ready to receive new updates. This helps Microsoft to deliver a smooth experience and prevent compatibility issues and other software related problems. However, if you’re someone like me then you won’t like to wait for Microsoft to decide if you can get the latest update. Microsoft has also recognized this and offered a simple solution to those impatient people. If you want the update right now then you can head to Settings>Security and Update>Windows Update and click on “Check for Updates”. This will force Windows to download the latest update but if Microsoft detects that your device has a compatibility issue, the update will not install until that issue is resolved. If you’re not happy with this and really want the October update right now then you can either Sign up as a Windows Insider or download the ISO files and manually update your PC. There have been multiple rumors claiming that Google is planning to enable Windows 10 dual boot support on its own Google Pixelbook. The company could allow the Pixelbook to be Windows 10 certified meaning that Google Pixelbook could soon run Microsoft’s Windows 10. If reports are found true and accurate, then we could soon see a Google Pixelbook running Windows 10. By the looks of things, Google’s device might pass Windows Hardware Certification Kit (WHCK) and Windows Hardware Lab Kit (HLK) certifications. If the certifications are passed, then you might soon see the Pixelbook running two Operating systems on one device. Google’s “AltOS” a.k.a. Project Campfire might be an internal name for the project that is supposed to create a dual-boot environment on Chrome OS. A little bit of digging by Windows Latest revealed the Campfire Project has been updated and Google has quietly renamed “AltOS” to “dual boot”, confirming that the project is indeed related to dual-booting of two OSes. Chromebooks are currently seeing an increased sale especially in the education sector in several markets in the United States. Microsoft also has its share of the education market with the Redmond Giant introducing Windows 10 in S Mode which limits users to install only Microsoft Store apps.
