Hi, been looking for a post about explorer crashing, but most are months old, so here is a new one.
REF: Windows 7 Explorer random crash.

From different bits of research I have done, it would seem that there are a few pointers: (1) Disable third party extensions to explorer by using ShellExView or similar. (2) Refresh custom folder icons by making sure that the folders are using local icons not network-sourced icons. (3) Make explorer start up new processes for each folder - Tools/Folder Options/View/Launch folders in separate process [tick].

The crashes are pretty random - sometimes I get a plague in 2 hours, then suddenly all ok again. This means they can be hard to track down since not always repeatable.

Any more help out there?? Sad
