Hello Its me vastac13. My first thread here =) before anything else I would like to say thanks to riso for making me to this kick-ass forums/site and also thanks to java for helping me on some problems..nuff said  Grin

Ok to those gals and guys there who are lazy(like me) that are quirky enough to clean install or run to VM before anything might happen. this is a must read as I upgrading my first windows 7 beta 1 (build 7000) to my windows Vista Ultimate(OEM)

First of all Why upgrade?.. yeah upgrading is for cutting the time to install all your hundreds of programs/software that might not work if you install on separate partition, then you clean install the other partition for the OS and after the the whole format and clean install assuming that your software will work and to your surprise It is not. (sigh) That's the reason you upgrade

Now if your ready then first setup your Image mounter. Yes you need this like PowerIso, Alcohol 120%, UltraIso and so on. You can google the others.

Next is check you free space from where your current Windows OS installed. Upgrading needs a minimum of 16.6 gig of free space in order to run.

Upgrading takes time. not as fast as clean install it's like an hour or more depending on how many programs installed it might takes several hours.

Oh Yes after you successfully upgraded to windows 7 you first thing to do is to activate the windows but it gives you an error(does not apply if you have anti-virus on the system)

Yes I had a problem on this after My first Upgrade. There is no Connection even if my modem clearly says I have. The problem is on the anti-virus(Eset Smart Security) or any anti-virus who does have built in firewall. you have to reinstall it then restart in order to make a connection again as I don't know why it must occur(MS might as well fix this bug if this is a bug)

After retreiving back your connection. Again another error occur(might occur)

Issue on activating your System. Yes some of you guys had this one especially to those who upgrade.

Depending on the error.. First check you connection. You can't activate if your windows can't talk to the MS servers saying I had the working keys. Second check your time.. yep time is important might as well syncronize your time on the adjust time/date for accurate time. Third and most important check your keys if it's valid as x32 and x64 keys aren't cross work each other

This is the end of it.. Just post your comments, suggestion or anything you want to share with us regarding on upgrading As I, Java, Riso and the others willingly help you to solve it
