Hi,

to my surprise I lost parts of the context menu if you right-click on the destop.
I miss personalize, screen resolution and gadgets.

Any idea what happened or how to resore the entire menu?

Thanks

Edited 20-11-2009; 20.56 :

I found out that CCleaner is the culprit; see

http://www.thewindowsclub.com/ccleaner-breaks-the-windows-7-context-menu

but now the questions is:

how to get them back?

Hi guy's,

It took Microsoft several weeks to concoct an answer.

This is it; open notepad copy the following:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\DesktopBackground\Shell]

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\DesktopBackground\Shell\Display]
@=hex(2):40,00,25,00,53,00,79,00,73,00,74,00,65,00,6d,00,52,00,6f,00,6f,00,74,\

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\DesktopBackground\Shell\Personalize\command]
"DelegateExecute"="{06622D85-6856-4460-8DE1-A81921B41C4B}"

Save it as :"Shell.reg" and merge it.

Works like a dream.

So, if you ever loose parts of the desktop menu (Screenresolution, Gadgets or Personalize) this is the way to restore it.

Greetz.
