Windows 8 page on Amazon is now live – Lets you get alert for availability

Amazon now has a Windows 8 page indicating that the OS would be available for sale on Amazon as well. The page currently shows nothing except the sign-up option to get alert of its availability but, we can hope that the software giant, Microsoft will offer its new OS for sale on Amazon.



Microsoft Windows 8 is Windows re-imagined as said by Steven Sinofsky. This new OS by Microsoft will reach RTM milestone in early August with general availability on October 26. Designed specifically for touch devices and with a new kind of interface known as Metro, Windows 8 will get a major UI change ever since Windows 3.1.
 
Windows 8 won’t be available as full retail instead upgrades would be offered to current Windows OS like XP, Vista and Windows 7 for just $39.99. Windows 8 Release Preview users will also get Windows 8 upgrade for $39.99.
 
Looks, like Microsoft will offer upgrades of Windows 8 through other platforms like Amazong, eBay etc along with its official website and Microsoft Stores.
