Javajolt posted a netbook version (starter version) of Windows 7 last year, long before I got my netbook and now I need this version.  The original location where javajolt posted no longer is hosting this file.  Is there any chance for a repost please?  Maybe to file sonic or where ever is convenient for the poster.

I have read that many netbooks users have loaded Win 7 Pro and had no issues and while that is also an interesting possiblility, I only have 2 Mb RAM and didn't feel like the OS would work that well, not to mention the additional disk space that would be required.

Much thanks if the netbook version can be reposted, since there is no version of this software included with my netbook or any of them as far as I know.

A big thank you for all the great work that is available on this site--I love it!!

It should be, but make sure your netbook will run it.  Let us know how it works out.

I am dl'ing starter edition now and will install it on a test platform just to see it.

here are some install pix of windows 7 starter edition.  right off you can tell it is an altered edition from the first install screen, it is plane white unlike other editions being blue with the flowers.

after downloading kb971033 ▼, i used the script method to prevent kb971033 ▼ from running and then w7lxe-loader to activate

winver ▼                                                        slmgr /xpr ▼

sorry about the pix, i had to use a digital camera the snipping tool has been removed from w7se  Undecided  i have now completed runing windows update and the computer is restarting.

jkb242...et. al.

as you know i downloaded and installed windows 7 starter edition.  i have been using it for just over 2 hours now and it is time for it to go.  i will reconnect the windows 8 developer preview hdd tomorrow. if there is any way to avoid putting it on your netbook or anything else, i highly recommend it.

javajolt,

Thanks a million for the tremendous effort and screen shots.  My netbook already has it and I only wanted it for a back up just in case I switched to the Pro edition and then encounterd problems.  I'll take your advice to avoid it--I do have an image of the current system containing the starter edition so I should be able to get back--but maybe I will install the basic edition before installing the Pro edition.
The only problem is that the only Win 7 Pro I have I got here last year or before and no clue if I can activitate. Wonderful Win 7 HP edition that you found last year is still working on my primary desktop, otherwise I'm not sure any of the others will work and that would be a bit of a disaster as I would have to restpore back to the starter edition.

Thanks so very much again!!
