Facebook does not seem to know when to back off. Privacy rights!
Posting and sharing pictures, thoughts and news with friends on Facebook is valuable to users. But what is even more valuable is sharing those thoughts with ONLY the users that you specify. This is why Facebook privacy has become such a hot topic issue in the last few weeks.
Thousands of users have quit Facebook due to the fact that they feel facebook is violating their privacy rights. Even more are set to leave the platform on Facebook quit day (May 31st).
MySpace is sneaking back into the social networking scenes by making privacy easy to manage for its users.
What is Ironic about this whole situation is the fact that Facebook was crowned the "Godfather of social networking." It was the platform that really started the concept of sharing your every thought, mood and desire with the world, which is what users loved about it. However now, it is clear that even though the web continues to become more "open," online users are not ready to give over full control. Is this a ray of light for email marketing?
