MONDAY 2nd NOVEMBER...  Upgraded both my laptop and desktop with Windows 7 Home Premium... outta sight! Both PCs have experience ratings 1.2 points higher than what they had with Vista.  Here's the specs...

LAPTOP                                     DESKTOP
2 Ghz Celeron D CPU                    3 Ghz CPU Intel CoreDUO
1 Gb DDR2 RAM                           3 Gb DDR2 RAM
INTEL Software Graphics              NVIDIA Ge-FORCE FX Series GPU 256 Mb

Old OS:  Vista Basic                    Old OS:  Vista Home Premium

Even though my laptop had no dedicated GPU Card on-board, I still got full transparency with Aero Glass.  Also I found that processing time was a tenth of what it was with Vista.  VERY HANDY especially with multi-tasking!

BYE BYE VISTA... Won't Miss You!!! Grin

Nice to hear a good review (especially one of Home Premium).

BTW, nice Core 2 Duo.  Makes us P4 w/HT users feel small and powerless.  Tongue

Thanks javajolt, built desktop myself 18 mths ago... got sick of buying cases that were riveted shut by the manufacturer!  I'll upgrade the laptop when the warranty expires...

I did the beta test thing and pre ordered 2 copies of Win 7 Home Premium.  It took me a little bit to load it on my Win XP computer but I really have had good luck with Win & so far.  Although I didn't have a driver for my NVidia card, I downloaded the Vista driver and it seems to work well.  I have some older games that Win XP refused to load, but Win & loaded them up without problem.  I only have 2 problems.  1.  My onboard modem doesn't work anymore.  (I almost never use it, but I would like to have it if needed.) 2.  I can't play Call of Duty any more  Sad    As I said everything else works better than before (although I don't like windows live mail that much -rather have good old OE) Win 7 seems faster and more stable and easier to use.  I Like It!
