Chinese-based smartphone maker ZTE has joined the ever-growing list of Windows Phone 7 partners who are planning to release a brand new device based on Microsoft’s upcoming Mango operating system.According to Engadget, ZTE’s first Windows Phone device is named, Tania and was originally shown to the public at the China International Communications Exhibition 2011.

The announcement of Tania could be good news for Microsoft as they attempt to gain ground on Google’s Android operating system, which has been beneficiary so far and has chipped off a major chunk of Microsoft’s Windows Mobile market share over the past few years. Google devices have ranged from high-end expensive smartphones, to low price, less powerful phones, which despite less speed have sold very well.
